A free lookup of public facts about postcodes in England, Scotland and Wales. The facts about postcodes come from the Office for National Statistics. The Sources page says which release we hold, and where anything else on the site comes from.

We are an independent site. We are not part of, and are not endorsed by, the Office for National Statistics, Royal Mail, Ordnance Survey, GOV.UK, any council, the police or any other public body. Links to their sites are there to help you find them.

We take care to show the data as it was published, with its date, and we correct mistakes we are told about. But the data is a snapshot, a postcode is not a boundary, and the council, ward or constituency shown is the one the Office for National Statistics gives for the whole postcode, which can differ for an address at its edge.

So the site is general information, not advice. Before you act on something that matters, such as a council tax bill, a vote, a purchase or a legal document, check it with the body responsible.

We do not charge for the site, and we do not promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss that results from relying on it.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.

You may use it and link to it freely. Please do not load pages by program at a rate that gets in other people’s way, try to get round the limits on the error-report form, or pass the site off as your own.

The underlying data is free from the Office for National Statistics under the Open Government Licence. If you want the data, take it from them: the Sources page says where. The site’s design, wording and brand belong to Towpath Digital Ltd.

The adverts on this site are chosen and shown by Google, and are labelled “Advertisements”. We do not pick each one, and what an advertiser sells comes with its own terms. Nobody’s payment changes what this site says. What this site records when you use it, and how to switch our counting off, is on the Privacy page.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring a claim in the courts there instead.

These terms last changed on 8 October 2026. When they change, the date here moves.
