How we use it

National Records of Scotland publishes, twice a year, which Scottish Parliament constituency and region each Scottish postcode is in. We read its postcode index, which uses the boundaries in force since the election of 7 May 2026, and keep the live postcodes only. Its postcode boundaries and grid references are for public sector use and are not used.
